*I have tried and tried to upload the video, you will have to go to dropshots to see it* www.dropshots.com/missew
Julian got a science experiment kit for Chirstmas, but here is what it takes to make a volcano:
Citric Acid, Baking Soda, Red Cabbage Juice Powder (which I am sure is just for color, maybe a drop or two of food coloring could be substituted), 3 plastic cups, eye dropper, a teaspoon, a table spoon, stirring sticks (or another spoon), water, a dinner plate
*4 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of flour to the first plastic cup, 1/2 tsp of red cabbage juice powder (I would think a drop of food coloring would work)
*stir the powders to mix out any lumps
*add 1 teaspoon of water and stir until all the powder is a moist crumbly paste
*dump the paste on a dinner plate (a deeper plate works best) and mold into a mountain (if using food coloring might want to use gloves to avoid staining on your hands)
*fill the second cup 3/4 full with water, add 1/2 teaspoon of red cabbage juice powder (or a drop of food coloring)
*fill third cup 3/4 full with warm water and add 1 tbsp citric acid to the cup and stir it in
Pour some of the purple water (or whatever color food coloring you used) on the plate around the volcano to have it look like an island volcano. Draw up some citric acid in the eye dropper and drop it on top of the volcano and watch it erupt. If needed dump some water off into the sink and continue to let it erupt until its gone.
