So today my nephew was born. Itty bitty guy came at 36 weeks and is breathing well and thriving all on his own. I went to meet him, his little head really isn't much bigger than a softball, fits right in the palm of my hand. He's just so itty and cute! Original reports were wrong. He is 5 lbs 9 ounces and 19 inches. Still a bitty.
My brother and I have had a rough few years, rarely speaking and when we did speak it was basically forced (by an event). But somehow, I feel like him having a child will help us resolve our issues. I mean, he did speak to me today. He even waited at the hospital to hang out with Julian and me for a bit before he went home to get some sleep. Being a parent softens you in many ways, of course it toughens you up in so many others.

ReplyDeleteHe is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Congrats!!! Makes me miss having a newborn. Samantha was 6 pounds 4 ounces at 36 1/2 weeks. Glad he is doing well! I hope you and your brother can have a better relationship now. My sister and I don't have a great relationship and sometimes I wonder if she had a baby if it would make us closer.
