Not Carlos' day :(

Mr. Carlos decided he would run and scream and just be a kid today. Wait. He does that everyday. But today things went wrong. He fell, or jumped, or I really don't know what he did (I was trying to make lunch) but he hit his face on my bed rail. Right on the bridge of his nose. I tried ice and was met with resistence. Okay, he kicked and screamed and managed to nail me in the jaw with his foot a time or two. But it hurt, and he didn't want to be touched.

I immediately thought we should get ready and leave. I try to call Bruno, give up. Figure he can't hear his phone. I knew someone else had to be there, Julian hadn't had lunch either and needed to be fed. I called my mom. She was having lunch with a friend but was ready to roll. She headed out there and took J to feed him. Bruno called me back and was at the hospital not far behind me.
Here are some pics from the hospital, over an hour after the accident. The swelling had gone down over half way already and the color was much better.

Triage, A nurse, 2 Drs., another nurse and 3 hours later we leave. They looked him over. Saw the bump go down and change color literally before their eyes and saw him acting (or should we say reacting) appropriately to Drs for a child his age. In other words kicking and screaming and trying his best to get away. He was also acting pretty normal for himself. He communicates pretty well so we are able to ask him what hurts and yes and no questions. My poor baby :( I hate that he had to go to the ER. I did however reward him (okay I had to feed him lunch still) with some 'nunnets' from McDonalds. He didn't make it home awake (nap is right after that lunch I was trying to make hours earlier) to eat them but he had them heated up and enjoyed them just as much.
It's pretty chilly here tonight. Bruno took the boys out for a walk and to the school to play for a bit. They came in and were freezing cold but that air did some good for Carlos' little face. The swelling has improved even more. I see some darkening around his eyes, not sure if he will end up with a black eye, or two, but its likely.
Even though this really sucked I feel very blessed. It could have been so much worse. Carlos has told me tonight that nothing hurts and he quickly returned to running, jumping and playing just like normal. Tough guy.
Here are some pics from tonight.
