Tonight, out of nowhere, Julian walks into the bathroom as I am getting ready to brush my teeth and says "Mom, did dad have to poke you two times to get two babies, or did you get lucky with one poke?" I answered "If it was just one, you would be a twin." He walked away. Hope that tides him over for another year.

Where do babies come from??
That question came sooner than I thought it would. At four Julian asked us. Simple answers like "mommy's tummy" and "God" were not working. He kept asking who put the baby there and the answer "God" wasn't cutting it. How is daddy my daddy if God put me there? Hmm. Foiled by a 4 year old. Bruno quickly answered "because I helped God put you there." "Oh" says the interested little boy. Mmmmhmmm that made things better I am sure. Pause, pause, 3, 2, 1 .... "How?" Of course I saw this coming. Bruno must not have. He blurts out "I poked your mom." Before I could choke him, I lauged when J poked his dad in the arm with his pointer finger. "Yep, just like that mijo" Bruno answers. We laugh. Subject dropped. I wondered just how long that answer would hold him off. It was last winter when that happend. Nearly a year has passed.
